About Our Brigade
Bass River Fire Brigade was established in 1960 with the election of the first Executive on December 5, 1960.
We celebrate our 50th Anniversary on Dec. 5, 2010.
There are currently 44 members on the roll call.
The Brigade is responsible for a large area which covers to the border with Economy Fire Brigade to the west, to the Great Village Fire Brigade to the East and to Collingwood Fire Brigade over the mountain to the North, with the Bay on the South.
Call-outs include, but are not limited to, motor vehicle collisions, medical emergencies, missing persons and fire.
The Brigade supports, and participates in, Bass River Community events. We also organize many Fire Brigade events through out the year, such as the Fishing Derby, ATV Rally, Horse & Wagon Trail Ride and others.
We currently operate with 5 vehicles; 2 pumper/tankers, 1 quick response bush truck, 1 fire/rescue/command truck and 1 medical first response truck.
